Privacy Policy
Placeholder. This page outlines what the final policy will cover. It must be reviewed and completed by a lawyer before launch.
CleanDeal is committed to protecting personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its ten fair information principles.
1. Accountability
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for compliance. Contact: privacy@cleandealco.ca.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data (name, email, phone): to run your account and send booking notifications.
- Home details and addresses: so cleaners know where and what to clean. Shared with your cleaner only once a booking is confirmed.
- Cleaner verification data (government ID images, interview notes): to verify identity and suitability. Stored in a private, access-controlled store and viewed only by authorized staff.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe. CleanDeal does not store full card numbers.
- Messages and reviews: to provide the service, keep the platform safe and resolve disputes.
3. Consent
We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, which you give when you create an account and use the service. You may withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual limits.
4. Limiting collection, use, disclosure and retention
- We collect only what we need for the purposes above.
- Service providers we use (hosting, database, payments, email, SMS, error monitoring) process data on our behalf under contract.
- Retention periods for ID documents and booking records will be set out here.
5. Where data is stored
Our primary database is hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1). Some service providers may process data outside Canada; details to be listed here.
6. Safeguards
Encryption in transit, access controls, short-lived links for sensitive documents, and audit logging of administrative actions.
7. Access and correction
You can request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting our Privacy Officer.
8. Challenging compliance
You may contact our Privacy Officer, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
